Steve Rowlands

Steve Rowlands spent twenty years in electrical contracting before he started writing about the regulations that governed it. He trained as an electrician, ran his own testing and inspection business for a decade, and spent five years as a compliance assessor for a trade body before going freelance. He writes about PAT testing, electrical safety regulations, landlord compliance, and the practical side of keeping buildings safe and legal. He has tested enough appliances to know that the biggest risks are usually the ones nobody thought to check. Steve lives in Stoke-on-Trent. He carries a multimeter the way other people carry a phone, and considers the 18th Edition wiring regulations genuinely interesting.
